Here at Accessible Beaches New Zealand, we aim to assist communities to make beaches and ultimately all water ways in New Zealand accessible for all. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to visit the beach, the lake or river and to take a dip in the water or sit on the shore, so with your help, we can make this happen.

ACCESSIBLE BEACH UPDATE:
On Saturday 7th of March 2026 Waihi Beach has again excelled to bring inclusion for all to the forefront through a wonderful community collaboration. A new accessible changing facility based in the Waihi Beach Surf Lifesaving Club was officially opened. It was celebrated with a fantastic day of beach fun and surf supported by Live Well Waihi Beach, Parafed Waikato, Achilles International, Waihi Beach Surf School and Halberg.
